Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India
Living in pagdi house for 50 years but kept locked for 5 years, utility bills in son's name but rent receipt in mother's name for last 5 years. Very old building now getting redeveloped. Can the son sign as tenant for the agreement with builder to get the flat in his name? Or is it a must to get rent receipt to be signed in his name from now on ?

if mother gives power of attorney to the son then yes otherwise let the mother sign.
