Child Support
I have paternity papers on file from 1992 requiring my child's father to pay support until she is 18 years old. I was told that if she goes on after high school and continues her education that her father will still be required to pay child support. Is this true.

If the order says it ends at 18, it ends at 18. You can change that to go through 21, and even to obtain assistance for educational expense after 21, by seeking a modification of the order. You should take your paperwork to counsel of your own choosing, or to the Ttle Iv-D office of your local prosecutor, to protect your child's interests.

Indiana law allows for child support to age 21. It also allows for college expenses that could extend beyond age 21. However, a petition for college expenses must be filed before age 21. You should see an attorney to determine whether your order can be modified.
