potential debt/divorce

Is there a way other than divorce to be free of spouse's future debts? Is there a way to legally protect my savings & earnings from spouse in a separation or divorce?

Answer to your first question: yes. Do not cosign any loans or credit cards.

As for your second question: the only way to protect them would be to have a antenuptial agreement (which is a prenuptial after the marriage).
