Comp. declines loan repayment

My dad had a car, got repoed and then sold at an auction. He has made 5 reasonable attempts to settle what is owed from the auction. Isn't it true after 3 reasonable attempts and they decline, legal action can be taken against them?

Not that I am aware of. However, your fahter can send a letter of explanation to the credit bureaus if there is an adverse report on his credit regarding the deficiency.
