Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Indiana

Settle estate pending litigation

If a single person with no dependants, dies and is a defendant in a lawsuit, can his executor settle the estate? The amount being sued for is small compared to the estate size. Can the house the deceased owned be sold before the case is resolved? We are taling about an amount of approximately $5000. The estate is worth much more.

Yes, the executor can settle the suit. I am not sure how the house relates to the suit, so I am not sure how to answer this question.
