Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Indiana

sorority membership

Our sorority is new and we recently encountered a problem with someof our members wanting to leave membership unfortunately at this tie we have nothing in our constitution saying that we are a lifetime membership org. What our concern is Do we have the right to require this person to signa confidentiality agreement and also return any cofidential information such as our pledge manuals. thank you

Re: sorority membership

You can always ask and hope that they are willing to sign voluntarily. If not, it will be difficult to require them to sign a confidentiality agreement without providing the leaving members some additional consideration. However, you can require the return of all materials that are the property of the sorority. If you have additional questions feel free to contact me at [email protected] or 1-800-424-1000.
