Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Indiana

Intestate laws

Hi, My uncle has died and we have had no luck finding a will so far. He has a daughter that he has never met, but paid child support for. I understand everything by law goes to her. Can it be contested? He had equipment that was used in the family business, that we found out was just in his name. It is a trickling effect on the mother and his siblings. Any chance a lawyer would take the case to try and fight for the equipment? No estate has been set up yet. Thanks

Re: Intestate laws

I am left wondering whose mother you refer to, if it is the uncle's mother then the intestacy statute splits the estate between daughter and the uncle's mother. If it is your mother, then there is no way to contest the statute.
