is there a certain amount of time that a will has to be read. is there a statue of limitation

In Indiana, and in most states, there is no such thing as a formal "reading of the will." But a will must be offered for probate within three years of death in the court with probate jurisdiction in the county where the decedent lived. If the will is not filed within three years, it is invalid, so the decedent's property would pass by intestate succession. If you have an actual case, then you should confer with a local attorney experienced in probate law as soon as you can. There are other deadlines, even shorter than three years, which affect the administration of a decedent's estate. Good luck.

The reading of a Will only happens in the movies. There is a two year statute of limitations for probating a Will.
