Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

can a parent move to a different state

I was divorced in the state of KS. and have joint custody of our child, I am the primary parent and I want to move to missouri, My ex-husband says I cannont move to another state according to the divorce. But I read it up and down and I cannot see anywhere does it say I cannot move out of state. Is there any kansas law stating that I cannot move out of state with my child.

Re: can a parent move to a different state

You are required to give him written notice before the move by registered mail, return receipt. Moving is a material change in circumstances that can give the court facts to modify custody. You need to contact an attorney. You can contact me at [email protected]
