Legal Question in Traffic Law in Kansas

I live in the state of Kansas. My parked car was hit by another vehicle in a hospital parking lot. The same car hit 4 other parked cars in the same parking lot on the same day. My car received only minor damage, and did not cause any damage to any other car. Neither me nor the driver of the offending car were insured at the time. Because of the accident and my lack of insurance, my drivers license has been suspended. I cannot get it back until a release of financial liability statement from the offending driver as well as the other four drivers. Or sue all of the drivers in order to obtain a civil judgment in my favor. What petition would I file in civil/district court?

You will file a tort claim. It is often called a "Petition for damages" You will name each of the other vehicle owners as defendants. The other option may be easier for you, if you realy need release letters. If the offending driver was cited for his actions, that shoudl be sufficient to replace yoru need for release letters. On the other had, once you have the other drivers served with your law suit, you can offer them a dismissal in exchange for a release letter. You will probably do better if you hire an attorney to represent you in your endeavor to regain your license.

Good luck
