check advances

if a person does a check advance and is not able to pay it back, what if any charges can be filed against him?

This is a civil matter in most jurisdictions so I doubt if the county attorney will bring criminal charges.

However, it is possible the check advance business will eventually garnish your wages or bank account to recover the money. If you have a lot of other debt, you may want to consider your bankruptcy options to obtain a fresh start.
