Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Kentucky

As of 2001 I have been sueing my ex boyfriend for business damages /stealing pro

I am a single mother business owner. I have found out that my ex-boyfriend has done the same actions to a single mother business owner in Texas. Is there any legal help for me? What is my next step? He is threatning to file bankruptcy on the over 18 thousand that I am sueing him for at this time. I fear that he is doing this from state to state and will continue to steal from business owners/ take advantage of single moms that work hard to get to where they are, in the future. Is there any help on the damages and stopping him from doing this again to another person? I plan to appeal his banckruptcy. The other business owner has agreed that my ex-boyfriend took monies from her and caused her business damages also. She is going to sign a notarized afidavit for my court appearences. PLEASE HELP!

Thanks,

Single Mom Business Owner

You can't appeal his bankruptcy filing. If he files bankruptcy, you have to file a complaint to determine dischargeability, and establish that he has committed fraud, theft, or willful and malicious conduct. If you can do that, his debt to you will not be discharged. See a bankruptcy lawyer in the jurisdiction where you expect him to file. Note, by the way, that an affidavit is not generally admissible evidence in court because it cannot be cross-examined. You need to bring the live witness.
