Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kentucky

collection of old credit card

my ex husband and I had a credit card and the bills kept going to his mom's home which he moved to after we divorced he neglected to pay them or inform me he was getting them. It has now been over 5 years and a collection agency is calling me every other day either at work or home to get the money from me. I have paid them at least half of the debt but would like to make my husband pay the rest or find out if the statute of limitations is up and it needs to be paid at all.I just do not want a garnishment against my paycheck

Re: collection of old credit card

If the debt was addressed in your divorce, you should be able to request the court make him pay you back. if it was not, you might be bale to address it with court as well depending on a couple of factors including whether the debt was disclosed in your divorce. please contact me if you would like to discuss in more detail.
