Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

My sister has full custody of her child but was just diagnosed with late stage cancer. Can she get a will to determine whom will raise my niece besides her father? He is a known drug user and is awaitng court appearance on pending drug charges.

I am sorry to hear of your sister's illness. Absolutely she should make a will immediately as well as do some estate planning as soon as possible (i.e. establishing a trust). If Dad's a druggie and deadbeat, you definitely want to make certain arrangements are made in the event of her passing. Take her to see an attorney immediately.
