Legal Question in Employment Law in Kentucky

Body Search in Kentucky

The employer I work for constantly makes accusations employees are stealing from them. They even go so far as to ''search'' your personal belongings, even pant pockets before we leave. Do they have the right to search my pockets, and if so, how long before I can say I have had enough of this humiliating treatment? What are my options if anything?

Re: Body Search in Kentucky

You do not have to tolerate this type of behavior. I'd contact the EEOC and state labor board and file a grievance. It may result in your termination, but this sounds like a bad place to work anyway, and you may have rights to sue or seek compensation for an unlawful termination. If you are union or have an employee grievance procedure, follow that as well. Best of luck.
