Legal Question in Employment Law in Kentucky

I am owed backpay from my employer. In December, I resigned with an excess of $8600 owed in wages. They pd out a minimal amount (1500) and said they couldn't pay any more until June 2010. I was informed I could either work w/the company or sue them.

You can bring a suit against them for the unpaid wages or contact the Department of Labor. You do not have to quit, however, in order to sue them. You should have protection from retaliation for pursuing wages that you are owed. Of course, you may want to consider finding another employer if this one is not paying you appropriately, If you want to discuss taking further action, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or the numebr in my profile.
