Re: Getting Husbands name off of loan

It will be COMPLETELY up to the lender as to whether or not they will take your husband's name of of his and his ex's loan. In most cases, she would have to re-finance the loan, etc. Owing to the financial damage that occurs during a divorce, it is my experience that often neither can support the loan separately. Your husband should contact the lending institution to find out what the problem is. If they want to keep him on the loan, they can until it is paid off. In any event, your husband will still need to speak with the lender.
