Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Kentucky

Sexual Harrassment in the work place

Hi. I have been receiving verbal sexual comments from my boss and the safety manager at the local coal mines in which I dispatch. On several occassions I have even been ''grabbed'' by one of the men. Such comments included (boss) ''you are very, very, very attractive!'' and others (from the safety boss) ''you are so sexy'', ''It is taking all I have not to climb on you right now'' ''Hey sexy'' Can I go home with you'' ''If you are going to hurt me, I'd rather you hurt me in a different way'' (meaning sexaul) All of these comments and the grabbing make me feel very uncomfortable and uneasy. I am not someone looking for a quick pay off or to start trouble but I don't feel this behavior is appropreate. One of the men has already had a sexual harrassment claim against him already. Please help. What should I do? It is their word against mine also.

Re: Sexual Harrassment in the work place

You should first make it clear, if you haven't already, to the perpetrators that the comments are not welcome. If it continues, you should report the conduct to Human Resources or someone else in upper management. You should consult and follow your employee handbook for the proper procedures to report the conduct. If you have tried the above and the conduct continues or you are retaliated against, you should contact an attorney for more information about filing official charges against the company. If you need more information, you can contact me at [email protected].
