auto accident

i was involved in an accident on 10/24/1997 and just now i am being contacted from a law group from ohio i live in kentucky at the time i was uninsured and it was a very rainy day and road conditions were wet i slid thru a stop light and was struck board side the other driver was i think injured and i was not cited for not having insurance it was a paper mix up so no over 7 years later now they want to sue and run me thru the mill in court what is the statute of limitations on this please respond my e- mail is [email protected]

Kentucky law requires you carry liability insurance on your car, whether it is raining or not. You were negligent per se. Duty; Breach of Duty; Cause of injury and damages resulted. The statute of limitations is 2 years from the date of the occurrence or two years the injured party received a voluntary payment from his uninsured motorists coverage.
