Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

I have 3 boys that have not seen thier biofathers in years. my first 2 boys it has been 8 years. the other son it has been 4 years. i have remarried 3 years ago. my husband is the only father my boys know. what would we have to do to has my husband adopted them and have thier last name changed to his. also the biofather does not pay childsupport. my husband supports the boys and me.

If the biological father has not attempted contact with your three sons for over 6 months, your new husband can adopt all three, assuming you did not prevent the biological father from contacting them. Your husband can also adopt if the biological father has refused to comply with an order of child support for 6 months and you didn't refuse to allow him to support them.

You would need to file a petition for intrafamily adoption.

I would suggest talking to an attorney to ensure this is done properly.
