Legal Question in Insurance Law in Louisiana

auto wreck no insurance not my car

I used my friends car and was stopped at a red light when a car hit me from the back going 45mph when I called my friend they said their insurance had lapsed and so I got a ticket for no insurance even though it wasn't my car and I don't own a car and I was injured the car is also totold what can I do? Can she be responsible for anything since it was not my car? How should I handle this ? I dont feel she should just get away with a ticket for following too close and she has messed up 2 people's lives I have missed work and and the wrecker company wants to be paid please help!!!!

Contact the insurance company on your car, there may be coverage there. If you do not have a car, then you are supposed to know the vehicle you are in has insurance or have personal insurance on yourself that follows you from vehicle to vehicle.
