Legal Question in Personal Injury in Louisiana

I was eating at a local chain restaurant when I noticed an unusual crunch. when the crunch happened, a tiny sliver of glass shot into my cheek and the bigger piece I swallowed. I informed the manager of the situation who admitted the salt shaker used to make my sandwich was broken, and allowed me to get a picture of the broken salt shaker. I also have a picture of the sliver that shot into my cheek and I have the physical shard in a ziplock. I immediately went to the local ER and was evaluated and treated for my anxiety due to the situation with ativan (I dont take anxiety meds normally). I was discharged after an xray and they could not locate anything. the next morning, there was blood in my stool and sharp pains around my anus when I attempted to use the restroom. because of this pain, I wound up not able to use the bathroom without the assistance of laxitives due to the pain. I went back to the ER and was admitted over night for observation after the stool sample they took had blood in it. I went the following monday for a colonoscopy consultation and the dr opinion was that my anus was cut open from internally and no further damage was probable so a colonoscopy was not needed. my question is I do not know what kind of settlement to expect here. both times I went to the ER I had to be given anxiety medication and I have been unable to eat out since the incident. Im just now getting back regular on my bowel movements.

You really should consult a lawyer. Not only do you need someone to evaluate and value your claim, there are issues you haven't considered, like the reimbursements that will be owed to your insurer for your medical bills. This isn't something you should DIY.
