insurance settlement release forms

If you are injured in a wreck and that persons insurance company comes to your house and gets you to sign an insurance release form while you are taking prescription narcotics and muscle relaxers 4 days after coming home from the ER, is that Legal? I couldn't think straight and I thought they were getting me to sign a release just to pay my medical bills at the hospital.

You can contest the release on the basis that you did not understand what you were doing when you signed it. Courts routinely throw out such releases.
