money stolen out of purse at supermarket

I was shopping at Winn Dixie supermarket and my purse was in the basket,a man got next to me and asked me a question about an item,meanwhile someone must have been with him and put hands in my purse,I had $505.00. When I got to register my money was gone.I asked customer service to let me see security tape and they informed me that the camera was not working.Shouldn't the camera be working to protect customers so that when this happens they can see who was in my purse taking my money out? I would never have shopped there if I knew the camera wasn't working.My husband and I are living on a fixed income and this was my grocery money for the month.My husband is a Disabled Vet and I'm a housewife.Do I have a lawsuit on the supermarket?

Anyone can sue anyone else for anything, but in this case, I do not see where you have a cause of action that would be successful. If cameras are that important to you, make sure you find the manager of each store you go into, to make sure they have cameras and that those cameras are working.
