Legal Question in Workers Comp in Louisiana

can an employer withhold a paycheck or deny association with past employees?

My fiance recently quit working at ''glamour shots'' in louisiana. she was asked to write them a letter saying to them she was quitting but she refused (because she was fed up with them). she was then given a call by their manager saying that her last check was going to be held. she was not supposed to be recieve this call because the manager (her maid of honor in our wedding) was made to sign a contract saying she would have absolutely no assotiation with past employees... at first they told her when she gave her 2 week notice that they would now not pay her comission (which would be about $500) but now they wont pay her at all according to the manager (who would be fired if they knew that she called my fiance and told her this or that she even called her at all. is any of this legal?

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME!!!

Wages cannot be withheld. Seek an attorney who is familiar with wages' law. There is the possibility for penalty wages in addition to the unpaid wages. Either way, a successful suit for wages will result in the employer paying at least some of the attorney fees. As far as the "association with past employees" that is another matter and won't affect the right to earned wages.
