Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maine

House deed

My wife and I had an uncontested divorce about a year ago. She got the house. The only problem is, my credit is poor until she gets my name off the deed. She is trying to refinance in just her name, but due to market conditions, they are unable to at this time. Is there another way to go about taking my name off the deed?

Re: House deed

Getting you name off the deed won't help. Until she can refinance and get your name off the mortgage, your credit will be damaged every time she gets behind on payments.
