Parent Plus Loans

I took out a Parent Plus Loan to help my daughter through college. I took this loan out totally in my name. I have re-married and need to know if I died would my new husband be responsible for the balance on this loan.

Your new spouse is not personally liable for any of your premartial debts if you die; however, your estate will be responsible to the extent of any assets not exempted by law. Therefore, your husband's finanical benefit from your estate may be reduced by the amount of the loan.
