Legal Question in Family Law in Maine

Uncontested Divorce And Retirement Benefits

My wife and I were only married for 14 months before separating & now are going through an uncontested divorce (very amicable). She does not want any claim to my retirement benefits or 401k. What is the easiest way to accomplish this and still go through the simple uncontested divorce. I have heard some bad stories about people retiring and not being able to collect their pension and/or 401k because of a marriage from their youth.

Sign a settlement agreement or have the court put in the Divorce Judgment that you are entitled to keep your full retirement benefits and that she makes no claim to them.
