Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maine

Neighbor's tree

Neighbors tree fell on our house last night. Doesn't ''appear'' to have caused much damage, but it's of significant size and will be expensive to remove. It was the result of storm damage, tree was not dead ... Am I stuck with the bill? :(

Thanks

Re: Neighbor's tree

Each of your homeowner insurance companies should be called in to evaluate. Your company may have to initially pay for the removal and inspection to verify extent of house damage (minus your deductible) but ultimately your neighbor's insurance should cover it, and pay the deductible back. It would be best if your neighbor's insurance pays for it all at the outset.
