Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maryland

If there is a lawsuit against you, and the plaintiff does not show up, the judge ordered a dismissal of the case, does it mean that the defendant is free from the lawsuit and the plaintiff cannot come back to the court for the same case?

It depends whether the Court dismissed it with prejudice. The order should say.

I agree with the previous response. If the order states that it was DISMISSED WITH PREJUDICE. (normally those words are capitalized), the plaintiff cannot refile. However, they may seek to reopen the matter or appeal.
