Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

identity theft

My sister who had a drug problem attempted to use my name to avoid arrest. Although they did find out at the station her correct identity somehow I ended up with that criminal record. I wasn't aware of this until I was denied employment in 2008 for that reason. I contacted the MD States attorney and they sent me a letter of explanation agreeing it was a careless oversight. I was told that within 10 days the petition to have it removed would take care of it. I have not been able to since then get any return calls or emails from this gentleman nor have I been able to obtain employment. I have never in the past had this problem I have a great resume and references. I understand the employment rate is a current problem for many now but i need to know if I still have this false record or if it is just a result of the times. How can I see a copy of my criminal background without having to pay?
