Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

statue on destruction of private property

My child went to an intake hearing for keying a car. The opposing party was supposed to submit a quote for damages by this date and did not. The matter was dropped pending a 30 day appeal. Can the opposing party sue me the parent for damages? and how long do they have to do this?

They can't really sue you unless they want to claim you failed to properly supervise your son--very hard to prove. They could sue your son after he turns 18 and is therefore an adult. The statute of limitations is 3 years, commencing at his attaining majority.
