Legal Question in Employment Law in Maryland

i work at a restaurant as a cashier and i answer the phones. my boss came up to me the other day and told me id be doing dishes from now on. ive been there for almost a year is he allowed to do that?

YES, an employer can re-assign positions as they see fit. (the answer might change if the employee was working under an employment contract but that would be extremely unusual for a cashier or other restaurant position).
