Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

What should I do about this?

My question is what do you do if your landlord has not giving you a copy of your lease and when you read and signed the lease and it state that rents due 1st of November but now there saying that rent late for this month? I think it a typo but can we be punished for there mistake? What sould I do?

Rent would typically due on the first day of each rental period. I cannot understand why the landlord won't give you a copy of the lease, but whatever the lease says controls, not what the landlord claims it says. Make sure you get a receipt for each rent payment you make so you have proof that you paid it in case a dispute comes up about this later.
