A resident in a nursing home in Maryland is recently deceased and an estate must be opened. All property is located in Georgia. Must the estate be opened in Maryland?

Probate of the will or administration of the estate if there is no will should be done in the county of the deceased's residence. This MIGHT be Georgia; it would depend on whether he/she maintained residence here even though in an out-of-state nursing home.
