Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

Help

Last night I was at a bar listening to my cousins band. I went outside to take a phone call when all hell broke loose inside. I went back in to retrieve my things and saw our designated driver being assaulted the situation diffused by a bouncer I went outside again. at this time our D.D. was among the missing. I went back in to try to find him when from behind someone was swearing at me.He was a cop.I tried to explain and he wouldnt hear it told me to get the f out.I turned to do so and he made anothe uncalled for comment to which I swore back at him and was violently thrown against the wall and told I was going to jail. he handed me off to 2 other male officers and I was taken in.I was never read my rights through this whole ordeal and was told by the officer I was disrespectful. What do I do in court tomorrow I have never in my 36 years been arrested and I do not know what to do. I feel I was wrongly arrested never heard of anyone getting arrested for being disrespectful!!!

Re: Help

Hi,

There are ways to fight this, do you know what you were charged with by the police? If you can't afford a lawyer - the court should appoint you one (depending on the charge). Please feel free to contact me if you were not appointed a lawyer and/or want to hire private counsel. I have experience with cases like yours.

Re: Help

Unfortunately you were caught up in the adrenaline pumping melee and the cop sounds like he was just looking to bang heads and make arrests. So now you are stuck with a Disorderly Conduct Charge or even worse perhaps, Resisiting Arrest. If you are 36 and have a spotless record you may seriously think about hiring a seasoned defense attorney, such as myself, to get you out of this in as painless a way as possible. If you need more info or would like me to represent you, contact me through the my website at www.lawworcester.com
