Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I have been divorced for 10 years and my ex-husband (who is a lawyer) is being represented by a lawyer in the sale of our home and has requested to be put on my health insurance because the catastrophic policy that he had and was required to have on me, has ceased to offer individual polices any more. My divorce agreement (MA) only says that he is responsible for carrying that policy on me unless I remarry but says nothing about him going on mine if his was cancelled through no fault of his. Can a court make me put him on my health insurance ? ( I was offered ins through my job last year) I don't understand the legal jargon of the letter I received from his lawyer about "merging" into agreement due to life change and courts generally having the party whose ins is most cost effective to carry the same.. We have not spoken in 10 years, nor does he have a relationship with his children.

Your ex-husband can seek to be put on your health insurance depending upon what your separation agreement says or the judgment entered by the court. However, your husband should be required to pay for any additional cost.

I would suggest you contact an attorney for assistance. If you would like my assistance, please call me to discuss your options without obligation. Is your ex paying his child support?

Your ex-husband can join the MA Bar association and should be able to get coverage there as well.
