Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

What should I do ?

Hi my question concerns my 13-year-old daughter.

We have been apart for nearly 10 years.

I have been divorced from her mother for nearly 6 years.

I have been remarried for the past 5 years.

My 13-year-old daughter wants to live with me for several different reasons.

She has been calling me and emailing me almost every day asking me when she can move.

Now I live in Tampa, FL. And she lives in MA. With her Mom.

I would love to have her come here with me but Im not sure how to handle this given the fact that I really took a bath when I was divorced.

Can you please advise on how I should handle this?

I need to know what to do, to get things moving and also, what happens to her support if a judge allows this move?

Thanks,

Re: What should I do ?

the procedure would be to file a Complaint for Modification of the Massachusetts Divorce judgment which would include a request to reassess support by the non-custodial parent.

No family court lawyer worth his or her salt is going to fill you in about the courts in such a public email as this.
