Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Hello,

Well, I have a question. I got married in Everett, MA with a Canadian citizen man who lives in Canada, and I used to live there but I came back to my native country which is Morocco. Now things are not going well at all between us and I decided to get divoced (one spouse wants a divoce). So I am asking if there's a way that I can authorize my aunt who does live in Malden to do the divorce procedures for me. looking forward hearing from you.

Thank you.

Thank you for your question.

Most likely, you will not be able to file for divorce here in Massachusetts. In any event, your aunt most certainly can not file for divorce on your behalf unless she is an attorney. Canada or Morocco would appear to be more appropriate fora for your divorce proceedings, unless you come to Massachusetts and establish residence for one year before filing.
