Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

Bounced Paycheck

I hope you can help. I have been working for a company 8 months 40 + hours a week. After 3 months I was given a raise of a Dollar more. That NEVER showed up on my paycheck. I always had to harp on the owner for my money and my over time. We are paid Bi-Weekly by the way. Myself and the other secretary have had issue after issue for cashing our checks. They have each bounced atleast 5 diffrent times and 4 other times both checks were post dated, when these incidents happen we were told there is nothing we can do but wait. Both of us are 2 income families and rely on this money. We are both at our wits end. Any help would be great THANK YOU!

Re: Bounced Paycheck

You should sit down with an attorney immediately. Massachusetts has very strict laws regarding payment of employee wages.

Depending on the specific facts of your situation, your employer could face automatic damages of 3x the amount owed to you, plus your costs and attorney's fees.

Please feel free to contact my firm should you require any further assistance.
