Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

Illegal Firing?

I have been telling my employer since January 2008 that I am not happy with the work they are giving me (not challenging enough). He asked me to tell him when I start looking for other job. And I did a week ago so I told him. The next week he came in and told me I have to leave in 2 weeks! Isnt that equivalent of firing me without any notice or warning? Is this legal?

Re: Illegal Firing?

No. Assuming that you did not have a contract which states otherwise, it is not illegal to fire somebody with 2 weeks notice. Two weeks = notice and warning.
