Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

I am a police officer and I was recently denied stress related work leave pay by my union. During the course of filing my request for payment, the union sent out a company wide email containing my medical diagnosis from my doctor. This email went to other officers who are retired and no longer part of the union. Should I file a lawsuit for invasion of privacy. It is extremely embarassing that everyone now knows my medical problem. They told me that they need to get a vote from everyone in the union as to whether or not they should allow the paid leave. I never signed any form allowing them to release my records.
