Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

While working at a previous employer I signed a non-disclosure agreement that says that I won't share 'company secrets'. My previous employer is threatening to sue me because on my resume I have the (publicly available) technologies that I worked on while employed there. Is that legal? If I don't put the technologies down then prospective employers will not be able to search for me correctly. For example, while there I worked on Checkpoint firewalls... They are claiming that I am violating my non-disclosure agreement by having that "internal company information on a public website" (i.e. linkedin.com).

I can't really give you a difinitive answer without discussing this further with you and review the agreement. Did your resume state that you used the software at that company? Does the former employer have a proprietary interest in the software? If the software is publicly available, would the company's have a legiitamate concern that it were known that its employees were using this software? Have you used this software at your new employer? Have you disclosed any confidential information acquired from you old employer to your new employer? If you wish to discuss further, please call me at 617-426-7400.
