Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts

I own a house in which I have let a friend live rent-free for 20 yrs. She has gotten to be argumentative and abusive. I want her out and she refuses to go. How do I get her out of my house?

Rent free for 20 years!

You will need to treat her as any other tenant. You will need to terminate the tenancy by way of a notice to quit and then commence eviction proceedings to remove her. Our office offers a flat fee eviction for uncontested evictions, and we handle the matter from start to finish. A reasonable hourly rate applies if the matter becomes contested.

You have to send her a 30 day notice to quit and then file a summary process eviction against her. You need to send the Notice Certified Mail or have a Constable or Sheriff serve her.

If you would like my assistance, please call me to discuss same.
