Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts

I just moved out of an apartment in Ma. My landlord said that the apartment was clean, but then deducted $577.50 from our security deposit for cleaning. She also deducted to repair wood under the kitchen sink because of a leak we knew nothing about, and painting a room that we had never put holes or tape on.

You have the right to dispute the deductions at which point to keep the money she will have to file a lawsuit.

Alternative, is to dispute the claims and file suit against her in housing court or small claims cour in MA.

If you no longer live in MA, it may not be worth the aggravationi.
