my brother passed away last month with no will. His live in girlfriend of 18 months is ttaking property out of the house that belongs to the estate. What can be done about it?

If the property was your brother's, contact her and tell her that nothing can be removed.

Go to the Probate Court and file an administration for your brother's estate and ask to be named the administrator.

I agree with attorney Lancia that you will need to petition the Probate and Family Court in the country where your brother resided at his time of death and ask to be appointed administrator of his estate.

You should also seek temporary (or emergency) appointment to secure his belongings, assets, and property.
