Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in Michigan

Un-armed Robbery

My fiance is in Mound Correctional Facility, in Detroit Michigan. He is in there for Un-armed Robbery. He pled one year. He recieved 1-15 years in prison. This is his first time ever getting into any big type of trouble. Does this mean that he will have to do over than the one year he pled? If so how can he go about getting out on that date or how can he get an appeal? Is there any way you can help me with my questions? I hope that you can help me and make mine and his worries go to ease.

Re: Un-armed Robbery

He had 42 days after sentencing to appeal his sentence or his conviction. Is this his first offense? And was the original charge armed robbery? Also, what county? I'm assuming Wayne, but correct me if I'm wrong. And knowing who the judge was would be helpful also. Chances are, unless he can't behave, he will be out after the one year minimum. You can reach me if you like at (734) 591-3737. Nancy L. Moore. Or email [email protected] Be sure to put lawguru in the subject line or I won't open it up! Thanks.
