Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Filing for Temporary Custody

My estranged wife and I are currently in a divorce. I need to get custody of my kids. The enviroment they live in is horrible. I cant afford an attorney, so I am trying to do this myself. I know that legally I can keep my kids, but I want this to be a permanent thing. How do I go about filing for an exparte order or a temporary custody order? I need this to be completely legal and final.

Re: Filing for Temporary Custody

You need to find a way to hire an attorney. This is way too important and complicated for you to try on your own. That being said, you need to go to the Indiana Judiciary Web Site. Use the link for the Indiana Code and read the custody statute at Indiana Code Title 31 and also look at the forms section at that same site. You will also want to look at the link for the local rules for your county.
