Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Getting remarried and leaving state

Ok... I was married to my first husband had a son, we got divorced, during which I met my later to be second husband, we had a son, I divorced my second husband almost 3 years ago. Whom I regret ever marrying. I am back together with my first ex husband and we are planning on getting married. Yet I live in Michigan and he lives in California (he is in military and stationed there). My second husband and i have joint legal custody of our son, Yet I am the primary care taker. He pays child support. What I need to know is if I marry my first exhusband again, will I be able to leave the state with my son and move to california to be with my husband. Will my second exhusband be able to stop me, I know in Michigan you can't leave the state with out the courts permission. I tried to leave once before and he tried to stop me. I got frustrated and dropped the motion to leave. After which he said he wasn't going to ever let me leave, I don't want to take his son from him, I just want to be with my husband and kids and be happy again.

Re: Getting remarried and leaving state

Most of the time a motion to leave the state will be granted. Do not let your ex intimidate you, and it would probably help to hire an attorney to hire you so that you don't have to deal with your ex directly.
