Kicked out but told to still pay rent
If two people are on a rental lease together, can one person kick the other out and still require them to pay their half of the rent?

You are still liable according to the terms of the lease that you signed. Likewise, you are still entitled to the benefits of the lease that you signed, to wit, to occupy the premises.
I would talk to the landlord and tell them your situation.
